They are visually pleasing & they also reflect the band's cosmic themes. Both covers of Moon in the Scorpio & In Abhorrence Dementia, along with the artwork inside both albums were done by Morfeus. Not only those made them unique, but their mixture of cosmic themes with death & satanism in their lyrics made them interesting. Thanks to this, it made Limbonic Art an unique band. Not only Daemon shrieks, but he also does some wailing, chanting & operatic clean vocals. Starting on In Abhorrence Dementia, Morfeus overlayed electronic drum beats over the programmed drums as heard on When Mind and Flesh Depart. Instead of acoustic drums, they use programmed drums for their albums (Their demos had a real drummer though). Both are highly atmospheric thanks to the classical-style symphonic keyboards, fantastic piano sections & sound effects of a giant bell. Ever since it got recommended to me I’ve noticed it in quite a few places, it’s great to see that it’s getting more the appreciation it deserves (including from me). In any case, this is a fantastic album of symphonic black metal, in the vein of Obtained Enslavement and label mates Limbonic Art and Odium a relatively clean sounding album full of majestic, cosmic soundscapes amid furious black metal. I know, we shouldn’t judge books by their covers, but in a genre where there are so many releases to look into, a band whose visual aesthetic isn’t what you would expect for the style is a decent starting point. A release that’s relatively new to me it was recommended to me a few months ago, and although I’m sure I had seen this before since it’s on Nocturnal Art Productions, I likely didn’t give it much thought since the visual aesthetic of the album didn’t immediately strike me as something I’d be into.
